Lyle M. Rogers, 75, Auburn, KS, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Midland Hospice House after a long fight with cancer.
Lyle was born September 19, 1936 in Greenleaf, KS, the son of Erie and Gladys (Johnson) Rogers. He graduated from Washington High School.
He served on the Topeka Fire Department for 11 years and then worked in sales for various companies, retiring from Kan Build Homes in 2009 as regional sales manager.
Lyle married Sandra Scheibe on June 3, 1956 in Marysville. She survives. Other survivors include sons, John (Lynnora) Rogers, Ronald Rogers, all of Plymouth, IN; daughters, Connie Kaberline, Auburn, KS, Bonnie Rogers, Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Ian Rogers, Jacob(Emily) Rogers, Audrey Davis, Emily (John) Gedig, Tiffany (Luke) Fischer, Cassandra Kaberline; great grandchildren, Abigail, Kayla, Daniel, Kevin, Tristen; and brother, Glen (Julia) Rogers, Holton, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Marie Odgers and Opal Boyle.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at Auburn Cemetery. Lyle will lie in state at the funeral home after4:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
