Lyle Sutton, 72, of Wamego, KS died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at the Colmery-ONeil VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas. He was born in Plainville, Kansas, the son of Lester Lee Sutton, Sr. and Marie Isabell (Wise) Sutton. He was raised in the Wamego area by his stepfather Elmer E. Sutton and mother Marie Isabell Sutton. He attended Wamego High School, served in the US Army in Korea, and married Mary Virginia Riniker, they later divorced. He worked in construction, as a welder and a mechanic. In his retirement years he enjoyed gardening and working on his garden tractors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Lee Sutton, Sr., stepfather, Elmer E. Sutton and two brothers, Lester Sutton and Henry Sutton.
Survivors include his mother, Marie Isabell Sutton, Wamego, KS, three children; Craig E. Sutton, Westmoreland, KS, Jeanette I. Sutton, Baldwin City, KS and Steven J. Sutton, Wamego, KS, three sisters; Helen Weller and husband Ralph, Manhattan, KS, Margie Durkes, Topeka, KS and Mary Jane Mahoney and husband Jim, Norway, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, December 24, 2004 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home followed by graveside services at 12:00 noon Friday at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.
