Lynda Belanger-Jamrozek ended her life's journey peacefully at home in her sleep on February 21, 2012, with her husband and "Bunky" of 26 years, Tommy, and constant companion, Bella at her side. She succumbed after a courageous 7 month battle with throat cancer. She was also a life-long muscular dystrophy victim. She was born October 18, 1949 in Goodland, KS to Willis & Sylva (Beckner) Patton who have gone on before. She is survived by her sister, Sherylyn Patton Bender and husband Charles of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Jennifer Suzanne Belanger Burenheide and her husband Jeff; son, Jason Reed Belanger and his wife, Kristie. Lynda was a loving and devoted Nana to her grandchildren, Mathew Thorton, 19, Meghan Suzanne Burenheide, 13, and Lane Miles Belanger, 8.
After many jobs, she found and loved her niche as a graduate paralegal from the Univ. of Colorado. She helped her husband establish a law practice in Denver from 1986 to 1996, whereupon they returned to Topeka. She worked for several law firms but found her last to be the most fulfilling at Engel Law.
She enjoyed watching sports, her husband perform music, and most particularly, being an Arab Shrine Lady with the Oriental Band. She had a quick, dry wit, exceeded only by her loving and compassionate heart.
A memorial service will be held at Dove Cremation, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS at noon, Saturday, March 3rd, 2012. Visitation will precede the service at 11:00 a.m.
Everyone who really knew her loved and admired her courage and strength, even unto the end. In accordance with her wishes, her cremains will be scattered off the coast of Maui.
