Madeleine Elaine Martinson, 92, passed away on August 2, 2018.

The daughter of Charles Alfred Martinson and Lulu Sholander Martinson, Madeleine was born on July 15, 1926. She graduated from Seaman High School and earned a Bachelor's degree in mathematics at Washburn University in 1947, where she was a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon, Tau Delta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi.

Following graduation, she worked in the Washburn University business office until moving to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1962, where she was employed as secretary in the Shook, Hardy and Bacon law firm. Later, working as the firm's bookkeeper and manager of its benefits program, she retired as controller after a 24-year career, returning to Topeka due to health problems.

A lifelong member of Topeka's West Side Baptist Church, Madeleine is survived by a brother, David (Virginia) Martinson, 13 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Three sisters, Margaret Martinson, Lorraine Cobb, and Barbara Edds, and brother, Charles Martinson, Jr., preceded her in death.

All whose lives Madeleine touched will miss her greatly. She loved her family and friends, and was a dedicated caregiver to her sisters as their health failed. She was a cheerful, very loving and caring person, who truly exemplified the Christian life.
