Manuel Ruiz, Jr., 93, of Topeka, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at his home. Manny was born August 21, 1920, in Albuquerque, NM, and lived until recently in Phoenix, AZ.
He is survived by his children, Sarah Ruiz, with whom he resided, Pat Ruiz, Deborah Pacheco; his brother, Ross Ruiz; his sister Margie Nuanes; and his granddaughters, Sydney Ruiz and Brooke Brown, as well as many others who loved him. Manny was a loving man who had charisma, enjoyed humor, had a presence of tremendous strength, and was a true family man. He has gone to join his mother, Isabel Ruiz; father, Manuel Ruiz; and brother, Gilbert Ruiz.
He served in the United States Army during WWII, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services for Manny will be held at a later date.
