Margaret Keeshan

Margaret (Baker) Keeshan, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008. One of nine children born to Mary (Braun) and James Baker, a graduate of Highland Park High School and Stricklers Business School, she was a long time resident of Topeka. Margaret is survived by her husband, Robert G. Keeshan; children, Mary (Keeshan) and Mike Pacey, Robert E. and Debbie Keeshan, Marjorie (Keeshan) and Larry Nadler, and Nancy Keeshan; grandchildren Todd and Matt Pacey, Victoria (Keeshan) and Brandon Teal, Lori (Keeshan) and Brian Threadgold, Zachariah Keeshan, and Jessica, Kellie and Cara Nadler; great grandchildren Jackson and Madison Teal and Elize Pacey; sister Dorothy (Baker) Northup and brother Donald Baker. Margaret worked for Federal Home Loan Bank prior to marriage to Robert G. Keeshan on August 24, 1947 and later for Washburn University. She was known for her wonderful cooking and her loving care of others. She was an active member of the West Side Christian Church and delighted in caring for and feeding her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Brewster Health Care or Midland Hospice. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5 in the Mount Hope Chapel at 2 pm; funeral services will begin in the Chapel at 3 pm that same day. Newcomer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
