Margery L. Rightmeier, 78, of Topeka, passed away February 28th at St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. Marge was born in Manhattan, Kansas, on August 13th 1938, to Ralph and Pauline (Morris) Penrod. She attended school in Manhattan and graduated from Kansas State University in 1960.
Marge was employed as the director of the Kansas Senior Olympics for many years and worked as an administrator for the Coast Guard in Topeka. She made many friends as she enjoyed square dancing, showing dogs, and cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats.
She married Fred Rightmeier on May 17, 1988. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Penrod (Judith) of St. Cloud, MN; children, Joy Adams Eriks (Jeff), Topeka, Jodi Adams Sturgeon (Jeff), Topeka, Dawn Rightmeier Sinn (Steve), Riley, Jon Rightmeier (Yolanda), Topeka, Eric Rightmeier, Fresno, CA, and Erin Rightmeier Johnson (Scott) Snyder, NE; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Lighthouse Bible Church, 4110 NW 62nd Street, Topeka, Kansas 66618.
