Margery J. Richmond

Margery J. Richmond, 83, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024.

She was born May 29, 1941, in Pawnee City, Nebraska, the daughter of Everett and Delsie (Black) Oehm. She was a 1959 graduate of Marysville High School, Marysville, KS. 

Margery was employed by the Shawnee County Health Agency for 19 years until retiring.

She was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, of Topeka.

Margery married Gerald “Jerry” Richmond on December 31, 1965 in Holton, KS. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2019. Survivors include her children, Jodi D. (Randy) Fay of Topeka, Tamie (Doyle) Davis of Azle, TX, and Timothy Richmond of Topeka; 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Breannah, Nick, Edd, Chester, Cristina, T.J., Twana, Christopher, Matthew, and Shawn; several great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Ed Oehm of Lincoln, NE, Larry Oehm of Clovis, NM, Charles (Ruth)Oehm of Marysville, KS and Paul (Cathy) Oehm of Manhattan, KS.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Marlene Marie Johnson; her step-daughter, Kimberly Richmond; and her brothers, William “Bill” and David Oehm. 

Margery loved her family, attending family reunions and her church family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, reading, art and painting. 

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore, Topeka, KS 66606. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  Interment of the cremated remains will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
