Margie E. Reekie, 82, of Topeka, formerly of Ottawa, passed away, Tuesday, March 7, 2005 at Plaza West Care Center.
She was born September 9, 1923 in Franklin County, Kansas the daughter of Flave and Amy (Beard) Watts.
Mrs. Reekie was a homemaker.
She married Wilbur "Sarge" Reekie August 25, 1941. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include: two sons, Leon and Rod Reekie both of Topeka; one daughter, Shirley Buerman, Lawrence; one brother, Keith Watts, Ottawa; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grand-children and 2 step great- grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burail will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery,Topeka. Mrs. Reekie will lie in state after 12:00 Thursday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. that evening.
