Marie Ann Hornsby
Marie Ann Hornsby, 84, Centralia, formerly of Topeka, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Community Hospital in Onaga.
She was born Aug. 14, 1922 in Topeka, the daughter of Charles F. and Cecil B. Racknor Hanson. She graduated from Washburn High School, and was employed at Duffen Optical for over 30 years before retiring. She lived at the Eastridge Home in Centralia for the past two years.
Marie was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and did oil painting, made jewelry, and played drums in a band, entertaining senior citizens.
Her husband, Walter Hornsby, died November 15, 1988.
Survivors include a brother, Marshall Hanson of Salina, and two sisters, Marjorie Norton of Centralia and Edith Egbert of Salem, OR.
No public service will be held. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery on Monday.
