Marie R. Medley, 90, Topeka, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Plaza West.
Marie was born July 3, 1921 in Silver Lake, the daughter of Wayne and Emma (Hair) Baker. She attended Silver Lake and Topeka schools. She worked at Shaffert & Grimes Pharmacy and for USD-501 Schools in food service. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and Eastern Star. Marie married Harry Medley on May 9, 1937 in Topeka. He died October 19, 1977. Survivors include daughter, Sharon (Gerry) Hahn, Overland Park; grandchildren, Shayne Salsbury, Carmen Salsbury, Christian Kennedy; and four great-grandsons. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Alverna Lolley. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at First Baptist Church. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 3033 SW MacVicar, Topeka, Kansas 66611 or Parkinson's Disease Association, PO Box 25, Topeka, Kansas 66601. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
