Marie F. Voss, 86, Topeka, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at Aldersgate Village.
She was born Oct. 10, 1918 in Birchtree, MO, the daughter of Fred and Eva Butler Faulkner. She moved with her family as an infant to Wheaton, KS. Her father worked for the railroad and her mother was a homemaker.
Mrs. Voss attended school in Axtell and Marysville, KS. She also attended Kansas State University briefly. She worked in several department stores and later in Oklahoma for the Corps of Engineers.
She enjoyed ballroom dancing, watching television, (particularly sports), reading, sewing, and playing cards. She was a member of the Professional Business Womens Club. She was a member of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. She traveled in Montana, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, California, Arizona, and Florida.
She was married to Lawrence Johnson, and they had one son, Larry Johnson, who lives in Topeka. She later married Robert Power, and after his death, she married Lester Voss also deceased. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Loeta Davidson in April, 1988. Inaddition to her son, she is survived by a sister, Maxine Wade of Raytown, MO, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
