Marilyn J. Bayless, 62, a lifelong Topeka resident, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. She was born November 8, 1953, in Topeka, to Ralph and Helen (Obermeyer) Schimmel. She attended Lutheran grade school and graduated from Highland Park High School.
On June 28, 1980, Marilyn married Earl L. Bayless. She loved being a homemaker and caring for her family.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Earl Bayless; children, Allen Bayless-Thommen, Michelle Bayless, and Angie Hurd; brother, Dennis Schimmel of Maple Hill; sisters, Diana Schneider of California and Kaye Swainbank of Vermont; and brother, Lee Savage of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Al Schimmel and Eddie Savage; and sister, Myrna Root.
A Celebration of Life will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
