Marilyn Jean Pardee, 80, Topeka, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born Sept. 18, 1926 in Topeka, the daughter of Paul and Gladys Crocker Green. She attended Mission Center School, graduated from Washburn Rural High School, and attended Washburn University.
Marilyn worked for 37 years for the State of Kansas, Department of Revenue and was a member of Auburn Presbyterian Church.
She married Robert Chamberlain on June 9, 1946 in Topeka. He died Oct. 1, 1970. She then married Fritz Pardee on July 18, 1972 in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim R. and Kathy Chamberlain of Holton; two grandchildren, Matthew Paul Chamberlain of Plano, TX and Amanda Mariah Reynolds and husband Tyler of Evergreen, CO; two great-grandchildren, Caden and Blakeley Reynolds. Stepsons Ron Pardee and Rick Pardee and his wife Elaine of Topeka. Their four daughters; Nicki Meier, husband Kirk and their children Lauren and Brogan of Topeka; Heather Frantz, husband Pete and their son Toby of Costa Mesa, CA; Amber Jenkins and husband John of Springfield, MO; and Courtney Pardee of Topeka.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Mrs. Pardee will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
