Marilyn Joyce Dunton, 72, of Topeka, passed away February 10, 2004 at her home.
She was born on February 12, 1931 in Clay Center, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest J. Fullerton and Nellie Mildfelt. She moved to Topeka in 1970.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Dean Dunton.
Mrs. Dunton was active as a homemaker and a member of the Needlework Guild, VFW Ladies Auxilary and Eastern Star. She taught knitting classes in the Topeka area throughout her life. She owned and operated the Vinewood Club from 1989 until 2000. She worked as a data entry clerk for the State Of Kansas and then retired.
Survivors include her mother Nellie Fullerton of Clay Center, Kansas;
Three sons Lynn Dunton of Santa Cruz, California; Doug Dunton of Berryton, Kansas and Stephen Dunton of Topeka; Two daughters Marisa Means of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jennifer Dunton of Kansas City; Six Grandchildren; One sister Ann Henry of Rogersville, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Dunton will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, where relatives will greet friends from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
