Marjorie "Marge" L Brecheisen, 88, Crowley, TX, formerly of Topeka, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at her home. She was born July 3, 1923 in Topeka, the youngest daughter of Harry H Kendall and Maggie M Rickman Kendall.
She was raised and graduated from high school in Topeka. She served in the Army of the United States Women's Corp from June 10, 1944 to January 19, 1946. During her time in the service she was awarded the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Mrs. Brecheisen worked for Fleming in Topeka where she met her future husband. Don G Brecheisen. They were married on June 11, 1948. Together they traveled with their family to Plainville, KS, Lincoln, NE and Joplin, MO before returning to Topeka. She was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her one true love. She is survived by a son, John B Brecheisen and his wife Carolyn, Alpharetta, GA; a daughter, Leah G Towne and her husband, Joseph, Crowley, TX; granddaughters, Sarah L Conkle and her husband, Robert, North Richland Hills, TX and Jill M Brecheisen of Kirkland, WA; step-grandsons, Jonathan J Towne, Fort Benning, GA and Joshua J Towne, Euless, TX; great granddaughters, Jessica L Conkle and Robin M Conkle, North Richland Hills, TX; step-great grandson, Xander C Towne, Euless, TX.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.
