Marjorie L. Herr, Topeka, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Midland Hospice House.
She was born January 27, 1933, in Burlington, KS, to Burleigh and Mary Alma (Newkirk) Hoover. On November 21, 1952 she married Robert "Bob" D. Herr, in Burlington, KS.
Marjorie worked many years for National Reserve Life Insurance, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Robert, daughter Janet Nevels, grandson Eric Nevels, sisters Norma Hudson and Fern Manderino, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved Sadie, all of Topeka.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and four sisters.
Marjorie will lie in state beginning 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. that evening. The funeral service is planed for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation or Helping Hands Humane Society sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
