Marjorie passed away on December 5, 2024. She was born on July 14, 1930 to Thomas and Lois (Miller) Kensett in Topeka, KS. She graduated from Topeka High School. Marjorie earned her BS in Education from Sterling College, Sterling, KS and an MS in Library Science from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS.
Marjorie was a media specialist for Jefferson West School district. She was choir director for Ozawkie United Methodist Church, was a session member for Thomas Presbyterian church in Thomas, WV. and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wamego, KS.
She was active and supportive of all her children’s activities, served as Cub Scouts den mother, 4-H leader, was a Sunday School teacher. She loved to sew and made over 260 throws and 40 Christmas stockings for family and friends and was an avid baker. The trash men loved her as she left them cookies weekly.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Tommy, who died at 15 months and her loving husband, Bob (Sonny) Dillon after 65 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Kurt (Pam), St. George, KS, Kerry Dillon, Wamego, KS, Kelly (Victoria) Dillon, Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren, Shawna (Mark) O’Halloran and Sandy (Andrew) Klein, both of Wamego, KS and great - grandchildren Jordan O’Halloran, Alex O’Halloran, Cora Klein, Bode Klein, and Thad Klein all of Wamego, KS.
Memorials are designated to Sterling College, Sterling, Ks or the First Presbyterian Church in Wamego.
