Mark A. Murren, 63, Topeka, passed away Tuesday December 13, 2022.
Mark was born November 1, 1959 in Topeka, the son of Asa and Ida Louise (Bleidissel) Murren. He attended Seaman Schools.
Mark attended TARC Day Services program for most of his adult life. He enjoyed participating in the many activities and events with his peers. In 2019, Mark received TARC's Perseverance and Personal Growth Award, recognizing the many obstacles that had been thrown at him, yet he continued to improve and strive to move forward.
In 2021, Mark moved to Exploring Life's residential program where he was well cared for and enjoyed the family environment they created. He had two special roommates who looked out for him and a caring owner and staff that provided for all his daily needs.
Mark loved all things Elvis (especially his music), Mickey Mouse, Christmas, Santa Claus, The Grinch, participating in Special Olympics, traveling with his family (from Alaska to Florida and most states in between), swimming, splashing and jet skiing at the lake, roller coasters, go carts and watching his favorite TV shows from his younger days growing up. While Mark's later years prevented him from enjoying many of these activities, these activities were a huge part of his adventurous zest for life.
Survivors include his sister, Bev (Kurt) Lawson; niece, Rachel (Robby) Sachs; nephews, Kevin (Jaclyn) Lawson, Steven (Andrea) Lawson, and Cody Lawson; and 4 great-nieces and nephews Delaney, Kaylee, Everett and Kinlee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Lloyd and Maxine Bleidissel; Asa and Hazel Murren; Lora Mae and William Kekar; brother, David Murren and great-nephew Barrett Sachs.
