Marquise T. Yates

Marquise Trevail Yates age 21, was born in Topeka, KS to Michael Yates Sr. (Topeka, KS) and Sheleena Jones. He is preceded in death by his father Michael Yates Sr.

Marquise accepted Christ at the age of 17. Being a part of a military family Marquise was able to experience the world at a young age. He attended schools in Kansas, Hawaii, California, and Florida. Marquise loved spending time with his family. He also was an avid fan of sports, particularly football and basketball. Marquise's favorite food was french fries w/ketchup.

On Friday, August 15, 2014 Marquise was called home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Sheleena Coleman (Hawkinsville, GA), his son, Jaylen Yates (Jacksonville, FL), eight siblings, Alexis Pusch (Salina, KS), Ali Strong and Onesty Coleman (both of Hawkinsville, GA), Michaela Yates (Dallas, Texas), Michael Yates Jr. (Topeka, KS), Marquinn Yates (Springfield, IL), Ravay Darr and Myyeah Darr (both of Topeka, KS), MyLea Yates (Kansas City, MO), two grandmothers, Edna Jones and Arlean Nix (both of Topeka, KS), three grandfathers, Melvin Jones Jr., James Fulton Sr. (Topeka, KS), Maynard (Tyrone) Yates (Texarkana, TX); and the following aunts and uncles, Connie, Melva and TaShila Fulton, Destiny Carter, Elouise Edwards, MaKea, Arianne Yates; Marc(Duke), Martrell, Maleek, Méshad and Marquis Yates, Anthony Ivy, KeiSonn Smith , James(Shorty), Jason, Antwaun, and LaRon Fulton, two nieces, two nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will take place at a later date.
