Martha Ann Holmes

September 14, 1941 — February 28, 2023

Martha Holmes, 81, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in Topeka. She was born September 14, 1941, in Frankfort, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Luceal (Jellsone) Myers.

She resided at Alma Manor where she made many caring friends in the staff and residents. At the announcement of their closing, she moved to Presbyterian Manor where she also quickly made many friends.

Martha worked in Insurance offices most of her life before retiring. She was an avid reader, loved watching sports mainly the KU Jayhawks, and listening to music especially Elvis. She fiercely loved her family and the many fur babies she has had over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; Bickley B. Holmes, father; Ralph Myers, mother; Luceal Myers, daughters; Connie L. Holmes, Trisha L. Fleer.

Survivors include daughters; Cindy R. Holmes, Jessica L.(Amanda) Fleer, Ashley M Hunt nieces; Mercille J. (Harold) Givens, Donetta L.(Jerry) Martens, Debbie D. Holmes-Sage, Brenda Holmes, Diana J. VanStone.

A visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Dove Cremations & Funerals Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka, KS 66605, following the visitation, we will be led to the graveside service to be held at 1:00 pm. at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, or Helping Hands Humane Society.
