Martha R. Johnson, 81, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Brewster Place.
Martha was born January 1, 1927 in Topeka, the daughter of Warren and Vivian (Herron) Rutter. She attended Topeka schools and graduated from Washburn University in 1949 where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
She was a member of Junior League and P.E.O.
Martha had been a volunteer Home Economics teacher at the Kansas Neurological Institute
Martha married Dudley C. Johnson on June 9, 1949. He died in 1999. Survivors include sons; D. Cooper Johnson, Jr. and wife, Valerie, Oak Park, CA, Stuart Johnson and wife, Kari, Topeka; grandchildren, Spencer Johnson, Mitchell Johnson, Russell Johnson, Kalin Johnson, Hilary Johnson, Taryn Johsnon; and a sister, Jean Warner, Topeka.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Private family inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
