Martha M. Brodie

Martha M. Brodie, 79, formerly of Silver Lake, passed away May 15, 2011. She was born February 11, 1932, in Holmesville, Nebraska, the daughter of Ruthger and Nina Frahm. On June 6, 1954, she married George E. Brodie, Jr., in Lincoln, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1994. She had worked and retired from both Goodyear and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas.

Survivors include children Rita (Ron) Meyer, Gail (Dennis) McAdams, Steve (Mary) Brodie, and Teri (Punkie) Simpson; siblings, Elsie Minzel, Albert Frahm, Viola Murray, Russell Frahm, and Reed Frahm; grandchildren, Punkie and Brock Simpson, Derrick and Sarah Brodie, Ryan and Tyler Koontz, and Leann Meyer; and 4 great grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy Gohde, Edwin, Walter, Henry, and Alan Frahm.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS 66610. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th, Suite 100, Topeka, KS 66614.
