Marvin A. Bisel, 88, of Topeka, passed away, Friday July 18, 2008 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born May 26, 1920 in Wakefield, Kansas the son of Harry Wilson and Bertha Amanda Thrush Bisel.
Mr. Bisel moved to Topeka in 1936. He was involved in the farming and dairy industry. With his father and brothers, they built and operated Broadview Dairy until beginning his career at Kansas Power and Light as a purchasing agent, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Fairlawn Heights Wesleyan Church and served on the church board. He also served as a board member for Bartlesville Wesleyan College. He was a member of the Gideon Society.
Marvin married Lois Bass November 15, 1942 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include, his daughter Delores (Bill) Land, Topeka; two sons, Ernie (Pat) Bisel, Topeka; Gary Bisel, Topeka; four brothers, five sisters, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Mr. Bisel will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel where the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Fairlawn Heights Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
