Marvin C. Collman, 60, Topeka, Kansas, went to be with his Savior on Sunday, December 16, 2012.
Marvin was born February 17, 1952 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Clifford M. and Patricia L. (Haake) Collman. He graduated from West Aurora High School in 1970, attended Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas and graduated from Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois in 1975. He received his master's degree from Wichita State University in 1981.
He taught and coached in Utica, Sterling, and Carbondale, Kansas, retiring in 2006 after 32 years of teaching.
He was a member of Topeka First Free Methodist Church where he had served as expenditures treasurer and on the Board of Administration.
Marvin married Paulette Price on August 9, 1975 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Candice (Eric) Berg, Kansas City, MO, Carla (Ryan) Kennedy, Topeka; grandchildren, Natalie, Ashley, Katelynn and Weston; twin brother, Bill Collman; and step-sister, Doris Hemmens. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Lillian Collman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Topeka First Free Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Marvin will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
