Mary Bonczkowski, 95, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013.
She was born August 7, 1917 in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Gabriel) Ohlhausen. She was a graduate of Leavenworth High School.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Madison, KS. She was a Life-Time member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mary was an avid reader.
Mary married Carl F. Bonczkowski on December 29, 1945. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry C. Bonczkowski on June 30, 2000, three brothers, Frank, Leonard and David Ohlhausen and two sisters, Josie Wilson and Clara Lee. Survivors include a son, C. David (Karen) Bonczkowski, Topeka, KS; five grandchildren, Scott (Becky) Bonczkowski, Chad (Carolyn)Bonczkowski and Ryan (Stacey) Bonczkowski and Travis Bonczkowski and Derek Bonczkowski; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m., at Mt. Muncie Cemetery, 1500 N. 8th Street, Lansing, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, KS 66606.
