Mary Frances Brown, 83, Topeka, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born Dec. 5, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur Lee and Thelma O'Rear Winkelman. She graduated from Southwest High School, Kansas City in 1938.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Country Club Christian Church, Kansas City, and Mission Hills Country Club. She was an avid golfer and had traveled world wide.
She married Albert Brown on Oct. 12, 1940 at Wornall Baptist Church in Kansas City. He died Jan. 8, 1985.
Survivors include her son, Arthur L. Brown of Topeka, her sister, Virginia Phelps of Tucson, AZ, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family requests no flowers and memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Association of Kansas, 4300 SW Drury Lane, 66604.
