Mary F. Irwin, 89, of Topeka, Kansas passed away March 9, 2015. She was born on July 19, 1925 at Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Frank and Mary (Schmoltzi) Watson.
Mary married William Irwin on September 3, 1950. They resided in Valley Falls, Kansas until 1952 when they moved to Topeka. She was employed as a secretary for Topeka Public Schools and retired in 1981. Mary was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and enjoyed RV camping, traveling, fishing and golf.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, William; two sons: Dennis Irwin and his wife Teri of Coffeyville, KS and Gary Irwin and his wife Debbie of Topeka; five grandchildren: Doug Irwin, Stephanie (Irwin) Hensley, Jennifer Irwin, Jason Irwin and Jessica Irwin; a sister, Virginia Vibbert and brother Bill Watson. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Kenneth Watson, Randal Watson and Frank Watson; and two sisters: Esther (Watson) Pugh and Ethel (Watson) Gooch.
Visitation will begin at 1:00PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00PM at Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel in Topeka, KS on Monday, March 16, 2015. Mary was loved and will be missed greatly by family and friends.
