Mary Elizabeth Geer

Mary E. Geer, 84, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022.

She was born July 3, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Glenn and Mary (Sobotka) Chappell.

She graduated from Benson High School. She went on to continue her education at the College of Saint Mary where she obtained an Associate Degree in Accounting.

Mary worked as an accountant for Boys Town National Research Hospital for approximately 26 years prior to retirement.

Mary attended Town and Country Christian Church in Topeka.

Survivors include her children, Elizabeth (David) Shuman of Topeka and Shane (Anne) Geer of Omaha, Nebraska; her six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Honoring Mary request cremation is planned. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Town and Country Christian Church, 4925 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614.

Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka, KS 66605 is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
