Mary H. Harrington, 72, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022.
She was born November 23, 1949, in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Carl and Marguerite (Boatright) Lance.
Mary graduated from Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California in 1967. She later went on to further her education receiving an Associate Degree from Cerritos City College.
Mary worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide prior to retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Brookwood Covenant Church and volunteered for Birthright of Topeka.
Survivors include her son, Cole Harrington of Topeka; her life partner, John Jones of Topeka; her step-sons, Jason Jones and Caleb Alvarez-Jones of Topeka and a granddaughter, Amanda Harrington of Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Carl Harrington and two daughters, Juliet Faith Harrington and Clara Harrington-Jones.
Mary enjoyed being an advocate for Birthright of Topeka. She supported Festival of Trees as well as many other charities. She gave financially and she volunteered her time whenever she could. She also enjoyed crafts, making jewelry and was best known for her beautiful wreaths.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66606.
