Mary "Helen" Harrison Bradberry, 63, of Topeka, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 3, 2014. She was born June 9, 1950 in West Point, Mississippi, the daughter of Walter Harrison Sr. and Malister Lenoir. She had resided in Topeka since 1974.
Survivors include her father, Walter (Doris) Harrison, Sr., children, Freddrick B. Ewing, Sonia A. (E. "Jaye") Jones, Joanna L. Ewing Jadore, ten grandchildren, Trevon L. Ewing, Brandon Ewing, Rashelle Robbins, DeMarco Ewing, Jazmin Robbins, Deven Williams, Tyler Ewing, Trent Robbins, Auve'ay Davis, Jaye'Son Jones, five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Walter James (Rhonda) Harrison, Jr., Leon Harrison, William Harrison, John Harrison, Alonzo Harrison, Jessie Burnette, Mary (Elbert) Davis, Leslie (Clarence) Whitfield, Vernitta Carrothers, Vanessa Harrison, Betty Harrison, Lisa (Larry) Harrison-Shotwell, Jeanetta B. (George) Pruitt, Sandra (Otis) Walker and her sister-in-law, Gladys Harrison. Helen was preceded in death by her mother, her daughter, Lovella Ewing Williams and her brother, Columbus Harrison.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Helen will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
