Mary Barbara Hudson

Mary Barbara Hudson, 84, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

She was born October 16, 1939, in Mineral Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of Harvey and Hazel (Webb) McCorkle. She attended Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Arkansas.

Ms. Hudson was a member of the American Business Women's Association.

She made Wabaunsee County her home for 25 years before settling in Topeka for the remainder of her life.

Mary married Charles J. Cook in 1957 and had four children. She later married A. B. Hudson. They divorced in 1992.

Survivors include children, Sharon (Mark) Stuewe of Maple Hill, Guy (Teana) Cook of Columbia, MO, Anthony (Lisa) Cook of Topeka and Stacy (Douglas) Flerlage of Olathe; grandchildren, E. Kristie Stuewe, Justin Stuewe, Travis Stuewe, Joshua Cook, Kayla Cook, Cutter Cook, Samone Wittman, Cole Cook, Keagan Cook, Joshua Larson, Saxton Hall, Banner Hall, and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Dane Zigrand, and sister, Georgia Gorrell.

Mary loved spending time with her family especially playing games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, taking many trips to places like Africa, Europe, China, Mexico, Canada, and all throughout the United States. Her interests included reading, cooking, crafting, sewing, and entertaining friends and family.

A private inurnment of her cremated remains will be held at a later date in Maple Hill, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the CAT Association of Topeka for the perpetual care of her beloved cat, Emme.
