Mary Jo "Jo" Bryant, 64, of Topeka, KS, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, after battling Cholangiocarcinoma (liver and bile duct cancer).
Jo was born June 20, 1947, in Horton, KS, daughter of Johnnie and Lois (Riley) Corrigan. She graduated from Powhattan High School, attended the University of Kansas, received an undergraduate's degree in education from Washburn University, and a master's degree from the University of Kansas. Jo began her career of 43 years with USD 501 at Bishop Elementary School in 1969. She transferred to Jardine Middle School in 1992, and continued teaching until May 2012.
Jo married Harry Bryant on July 8, 1967, in Powhattan, KS.
She is survived by her husband, Harry, Topeka, daughters, Kate (Matt) McNeil, Olathe, and Julia (William) Robinson, Olathe, three grandsons, Evan McNeil and Jayden and Julian Robinson, and sister, Sharon (Matt) Kubik, Michigan City, IN.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd., Topeka. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2nd, at Powhattan Cemetery, Powhattan. Jo's family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka.
