Mary E. Linnenburger, 97, Topeka, KS, formerly of Hamilton, IL, passed away on February 24, 2009 at Aldersgate Village.
She was born December 1, 1911 in Elvaston, IL, the daughter of Till and Jenny (Baldon) Monroe. She graduated from Elvaston High School in 1929.
Mary married Marvin Linnenburger on December 16, 1931. He passed away March 24, 1980 in Keokuk, IA. They lived on a farm a few miles from Hamilton for many years. She enjoyed raising a large garden, quilting and Women's Fellowship at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Sutter, IL.
Survivors include her children; Sandra (Jim) Brown, Topeka, KS, Larry (Marge) Linnenburger, Colorado Springs, CO, Dennis (Jane) Linnenburger, Morton, IL; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Bill Linnenberger, James Arthur Linnenburger; and 3 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Warsaw, Illinois at the Bethlehem United Church of Christ at 1:30 p.m. The family will greet friends one half hour before the service.
