Mary Louise Reed

Mary Louise Reed, 89, of Topeka, passed away peacefully Monday, August 5, 2024.

She was born March 1, 1935, in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1954, and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Mary was employed with St. Francis Hospital for 9 years and following the loss of her husband, she worked at Eventide Convalescent Center for 7 years.

Mary married Glenn Edward Reed on June 15, 1962 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

Survivors include a son, Edward “Eddie” (Kimberly) Reed, a sister and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mary was a member of Still Waters Church of Topeka. She was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her house plants, reading her Bible and sharing gospel tracts with everyone she met.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24,2024, at Still Waters Church, 4412 SW 21st St., Topeka, KS. The family will welcome guests half an hour prior to the service start time. Mary’s ashes will be laid to rest at Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, Kansas.
