Marylyn Helen Gerstner, 67, of Topeka, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022.
She was born February 15, 1955, in Galveston, Texas, the daughter of Wilbert and Cristel (Cameron) Meyer. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1973 received a bachelor's degree in education from Emporia State in 1978.
Marylyn was employed as an English teacher by Shawnee Heights High School for 38 years, retiring in 2010.
Marylyn married Lawrence E. Gerstner on March 3, 2008 in Topeka, Kansas. He survives, along with her brothers Robert Meyer of Colorado and David Meyer of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbert and Cristel Meyer.
Marylyn enjoyed her career in teaching.
Marylyn was cremated. A private ceremony will be held at her home in Topeka, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee Heights Public Schools Foundation, 4401 SE Shawnee Heights Rd., Tecumseh, KS 66542.
