Marzie L. Beaver, 81, of Kansas City, KS, formerly of Topeka, went to be with her Lord Sunday, December 29, 2013 at a Kansas City, KS care facility. She was born January 18, 1932 in Arthur City, TX, the daughter of George and Florence Whaley Hill.
Marzie was employed by Scotch Cleaners, the Menninger Foundation and the State of Kansas. She was a member of True Light Church. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a very giving person and would do anything in her power to help anyone especially her children and grandchildren.
Marzie married Jessie Lee Beaver. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Howard Beaver and six brothers, Arthur Lee "Sugar" Fergerson, Garfield Hill, Floyd Hill, Billy Hill, George Edward Hill and Alonzo Hill and one sister, Virginia Newborn. Survivors include four children, Aaron Beaver, Chleda Beaver, Winslow Beaver and Marsha Beaver, 11 Grandchildren, LaRon Beaver, Alecia Hightower, Gary Hightower, Natasha Beaver, Aaron Beaver, Jr., Derrick Beaver, Titus Beaver, Swavea Dudley, Mishellay Beaver, TreVonte Beaver, LeonTrell Beaver-Hill, 19 Great-Grandchildren, Khadijah Beaver, Tanayah Beaver, Nia Gosier, LaVante Beaver, Nicholas Beaver, Genesia Beaver, Merceye Beaver, KayLee Beaver, Sha'Marion Newman, Alexandria Newman, Nyla Parkhurst, Chris'Sean Parkhurst, Nation Peak, Michael Peak, Jr., Courtney Tibbs, Jonell Tibbs, LaMara Beaver, Gary Hightower, Jr., Amaya Hightower and a Great-Great-Grandson, Noah Beaver and one sister, Sally Holt.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Marzie L. Beaver Memorial Fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka, KS 66605.
