Dr. Matthew S. Malmstrom, 45, Topeka, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at Midland Hospice House.
Matthew was born April 14, 1977 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Steven an Donna (Schuler) Malmstrom. He graduated from Topeka West High School, Kansas State University and the University of Health Sciences in 2004. He completed his residency at Michigan State University in Pontiac, MI and fellowship at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Malmstrom was employed as a Radiologist with Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in Topeka.
He was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Kansas Gamma Chapter, Kansas State University and the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology.
He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, and watching his children participate in dance and sports.
Matthew married Allison (Francis) Malmstrom on June 12, 2004 in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include their children Cooper Matthew Malmstrom and Ada Francis Malmstrom; his parents, Dr. Steven and Donna Malmstrom; brother Michael (Amy McCarville) Malmstrom and sister, Kelly (Ben) Jacobi.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at St. David's Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial for Matt Malmstrom has been established at the Kansas State University Foundation.
