Maudie E. Bender Jones Johnson, 84, of Topeka, passed into the eternal embrace of our Heavenly Father on Monday, May 7, 2018.
Maudie was our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, in-law, cousin, aunt and friend. She was the last to be joined with her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Maudie married James P. Jones. He preceded her in death. She later married Connie Johnson. He survives. Other survivors include children, Ellen Jones, Jerry Jones, Kenneth Jones, James Jones, Joe Jones, Clayborn Jones and Regina Jones, grandchildren, Travelle Gueary, Tanisha Belk, Marcus Jones, Tony Jones, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Maudie will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Private graveside services will take place at a later date.
