Maynard T. Yates, 60, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. He was born December 7, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Samuel and Patricia (Jones) Yates.
Maynard graduated from Topeka High School in 1976. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic.
Maynard married Lisa Brooks. She survives. Other survivors include children; Marc, Martrell, Malik, Meshad, Marquis, Myles, Courtney, Elijah, Mequiya and Myra; twenty grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and his siblings; Khalil, Gayland, Michael, Steven and Jaime and a host of family and friends.
Maynard was preceded in death by one son, Michael T. Yates on February 2, 2003.
As per Maynard's wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial services are planned.
