Meda Mae Trowbridge, 92, passed away on March 17, 2012 in Topeka. She was born on March 13, 1920 in Clyde, Kansas to Ross and Mildred (Morgan) Hampton.
Meda retired in 1985 from Kansas State University Student Union, where she was employed for 25 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a life member of Chapter 209 Order of Eastern Star, both in Manhattan.
On July 30, 1942, she married Keith Trowbridge in Manhattan, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2009. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, her parents and a sister, Ruth Christian.
Meda is survived by her son, Tony (Bobbie) Trowbridge of Plano, TX; daughters, Terri (Gene) Ochs of Sublette, KS and Susan (John) Carey of Topeka; sister, Mary Hampton of Grand Junction, CO; four grandchildren, Todd (Kathy) Trowbridge, Lisa Hardin, Keith (Naomi) Stevens and Matthew (Malani) Carey and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Cremation is planned and services will be held at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel is assisting the family with cremation.
