Melvin D. Beaty, 75, Topeka, passed away May 8, 2010. He was born March 12, 1935, the third of five children to George and Wilma (Chance) Beaty, at Humansville, Missouri. Melvin married Marilyn Kramer. They were divorced.
He came to the Topeka area while serving in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Forbes Field. He served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He married Wanda Zirkle on July 15, 1966 at Miami, Oklahoma.
Melvin's life's work was in the automobile industry. He worked for Noller Ford and Noller Lincoln Mercury in sales. He was last employed at Autos Inc. located on west 6th Ave.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda, of the home; three sons, Mark Beaty, Eudora, Kansas, Michael Beaty, Topeka, Kansas, Brian Beaty, Wylie, Texas; daughter, Cheryl Scott, Topeka, Kansas; four grandchildren, Cheyenne, Zachary, Austin, and Madison; one sister, Lucy Walmer, Bowling Green, Missouri.
He was preceded by his parents and three brothers.
