Merle W. Faulkender

Merle W. Faulkender, 84, Topeka, died Sept. 7, 2010 at his home. He was born on April 28, 1926 in Circleville, Kansas to Merle W. Faulkender and Velma Dailey. He married Loy June "Suzie" Jacobson on May 22, 1948. They were married 45 years prior her death in 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Claudia Jo.

He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Sue Williams and son-in-law, Rev. Louis R. Williams Jr. of Topeka; two grandsons, Aaron D. and Andrew L. Williams.

Merle retired from KPL Gas Service in 1988 after 34 years of service to enjoy fishing and playing golf. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea. He was a member of American Legion Capital Post #1 and Masonic Lodge #90.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 at Dove Cremation and Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. Inurnment will follow at Topeka Cemetery Garden Chapel with military honors.
