On October 18, 2010 Merrill Page Richardson, III joined his heavenly father.
Merrill was born April 29, 1958 in Waynesville, Missouri to Merrill Richardson, Jr. and Elizabeth Sweetman Richardson.
He graduated from Junction City High school in 1976, and then joined the United States Navy. He proudly served his country from 1977 to 1986. After his military service Merrill spent many years serving others in the mental health care field.
He married Cynthia Cook in 1981. They later divorced. Merrill was blessed with one loving daughter, Megan Richardson-Thomas, a son-in-law Jason Thomas, and two wonderful grandchildren Aubree Anderson, and Zacary Thomas.
Merrill was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, treating his family and friends to a delicious home cooked meal, and spoiling his grandchildren.
In addition to his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, Merrill will be mourned by his special friend, Kelly Wegner; sisters, Lynda Larsen (Larry), Topeka, KS, Christina Townsend-Thomas (Tim), Greenbrier, AR; brothers, Nicholas Domingue, Sedalia, MO, Jeffrey Richardson (Vicky), Wamego, KS, Steven Richardson (Diane), Tucson, AZ; eight nieces, six nephews, fifteen great-nieces, five great-nephews, and one great-great niece, and a host of friends.
Merrill was greeted in heaven by his parents, brother-in-law Stanley Townsend, and niece Ashley Richardson.
Mass of Catholic burial will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 23, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 227 SW Van Buren, Topeka, KS.
