Michael Allen Rush

Michael Allen Rush, 70, of Topeka, passed away September 6, 2016. He was born at Iola, Kansas to Allen and Margaret (Hill) Rush on May 3, 1946. He graduated from Hayden High School. Michael married Carol Ann Urias Vega on May 26, 2000 at Topeka. She survives.

He is also survived by his children: Ryan Rush (Angie), Robin Hill (Deone), Rachael Lee (Marvin), Salina Vega, and Irene Vega; 17 grandchildren; his father Allen Rush, his step-mother Evelyn Rush; three brothers: Thomas Rush (Barb), James Rush (Ann) and Mark Rush (Ann); and his "fur children" Milo and Marley. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his son, Roy Vega.

He loved his Kansas teams especially the Jayhawks! He enjoyed cooking, fishing, mushroom hunting and gardening. He loved being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family which he loved greatly. He was employed by the state of Kansas for 22 years as a safety inspector for natural gas companies. As he traveled with his job, he learned many trivial facts that he loved sharing about the state of Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 3-5PM at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. Topeka. Please remember Michael by wearing KU Jayhawks, KC Chiefs or KC Royals attire. The funeral service will also be held at the Dove Cremation & Funeral Service chapel on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1PM.
