Michael C. Fitzgerald, 27, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016. He was born August 24, 1989, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Michael Clair and Sheila (Martinez) Fitzgerald. Michael was raised in Topeka and attended Wanamaker Elementary, Washburn Rural Middle School and Washburn Rural High School.
Michael was dedicated to being a full-time caregiver to his father following a stroke. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church of Topeka and Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.
Michael is survived by his mother, Sheila Fitzgerald; brother, Timothy Dyer and grandmother, Zelda Martinez.. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Clair Fitzgerald; grandparents, Clair and Patricia Fitzgerald and grandfather, Logie Martinez.
Michael enjoyed video games, collecting Lego's and caring for his cat, "Tan Kitty".
Michael was cremated. Private family graveside services are pending at Shipshee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka, KS 66604.
