Michael Clair Fitzgerald, 56, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012. He was born November 16, 1955 in Oklahoma City, the son of Clair and Patricia (Wilson) Fitzgerald.
Michael was raised in Topeka, and attended Washburn Rural High School. He graduated from Washburn University. Michael married Sheila Martinez March 18, 1989 at the home of his parents in Topeka. He was employed as a respiratory therapist and worked many years at the Overland Park Hospital and Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He enjoyed watching SciFi TV, reading fantasy books, and he loved celebrating the 4th of July.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sheila; sons, Timothy Dyer, Michael Christopher Fitzgerald and cousin, Marsha Trickett. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Shipshee Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his honor can be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society 2625 NW Rochester Rd. Topeka, KS 66617.
