Michael J. Unrein, Jr.

Michael J. Unrein, Jr., 84, of Topeka, passed away August 30, 2013. He was born January 4, 1929, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Michael J. and Dorothy Harkness Unrein. On June 2, 1950, in Ellsworth, Kansas, he married Betty Marie Swick. She preceded him in death on August 9, 1999. On January 7, 2001, in Wakarusa, he married June Owens Spacek. She survives.

Michael was a 1947 graduate of Hays High School and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 33 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Survivors include wife, June; daughter, Lisa Marie Johnson; brother, Patrick Unrein; daughter-in-law, Janet Unrein; step-children, Candy Spacek, Doug Spacek, and Lou Spacek; and two grandchildren, Callen Johnson and Shawn Michael Unrein. He was preceded in death by son, Michael J. Unrein, III; brother, Gerhardt Unrein; and sister, Dorothy L. Hall.
