Michael Patrick Pendley, 42, Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Mike was born May 27, 1972 in Creve Coeur, MO, the son of William and Joanne (Burns) Pendley. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1990 and from TWA Aircraft Mechanic School at KCI Airport in Kansas City in 1996.
He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1992-98.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. Adventurous and lived life to the fullest. Loved to laugh, work hard and play harder. Always helped others and never without a smile. As an organ donor (through Midwest Transplant Network), he will continue to help others live even though he is gone.
Survivors include his parents, Bill and Joanne Pendley, Topeka; brother, Sean (Ann) Pendley, Olathe; sister, Colleen (Brad) Grinage, Lawrence; nieces, Riley, Tyler, Abby, Samantha, Jessica, Beth, Noelle; nephew, Will; and girlfriend, Jenny Jablonski, St. Peters, MO.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Mike will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
