Micky Mae Parhm-Furman, 86, returned to her heavenly home February 28, 2018. Her firm belief in God and her devotion to her family will remain a testimony to all that came to know her during her time on this earth.
Micky was born January 23, 1932 in Council Grove, KS to Emma Keene Stockdale and Guy Stockdale. She was given the name Minnie, named after her maternal aunt, but soon became known to all as Micky or as her husband Baker would so lovingly call her "Mick". She spent her younger years in Council Grove and finished out her schooling there. She married Lewis Steavenson and they had four children. He passed in 1967. She later married Baker Parhm, they spent many years together in Emporia, KS and had a wonderful life up until his passing in 1995. She was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church for many years and volunteered her time to the Christian School. In 1998 she married Chester Furman, together they established North Rock Baptist Church in Topeka, KS and she enjoyed her time there serving the people of that church. Chester also preceded her in death in 2015.
Micky is survived by her daughters, Vivian Steavenson and Kim Fladung, both of Emporia; sons, Jon (Val) Steavenson of Emporia and Lewis Steavenson of Charlotte North Carolina. Her grandchildren, Dawn (Ryan) Boyer, Chris (Liz) Steavenson, Tim Steavenson, Dylan Medlock, Crystal Marlar, Shane Marlar, Tasha (Bryant) Linsey, Monica Fladung, Courtney Fladung, Morgan (Daniel) Ruiz, Ross Nail, and Alyssa Boyer and great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Donna Warren, Rose (Duane) Smith, Pat Thompson, and Vicki (Reggie) Ronzello and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Guy Stockdale, and a granddaughter Brianna Mundy.
The family will have a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to Westside Baptist Church.
